Data SiftX handles

SiftX handles only the data needed for its user-facing features:

• X timeline and search content, including post text, account names and handles, links, media URLs, timestamps, and engagement counts.
• Activity on x.com that is needed to identify supported timeline, search, post, and reply requests.
• Search queries, post or reply text, target post URLs, and media that the user supplies through the optional local AI connection.
• Two local preferences recording whether the sidebar and local AI connection are enabled.

SiftX does not collect passwords, X authentication cookies, authorization headers, payment information, health information, or precise location. Credential-shaped fields are removed before results can cross the local bridge.

How the data is used

Timeline content is used to build the preview sidebar. Search, post, and reply data is used only to perform the action requested through the optional local AI client. SiftX does not use this data for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or any purpose unrelated to these features.

Where the data goes

The sidebar processes X content inside Chrome. When the optional AI connection is enabled, the extension communicates with the SiftX desktop bridge on 127.0.0.1, which is the loopback address of the user's own computer. The bridge can pass requested results to a local MCP client chosen and configured by the user.

Searches, posts, replies, and media are sent to X through the user's signed-in X tab when the user or their configured local client requests that action. SiftX does not send this data to a developer-operated server. A separately installed AI or MCP client may retain the information it receives according to that product's own settings and privacy policy.

Storage and retention

The extension stores only the sidebar and local AI connection preferences in Chrome's local extension storage. They remain until the user changes them, clears extension data, or removes SiftX.

Timeline previews are held temporarily in page memory, with no more than 20 response batches retained for each supported feed. They are cleared when the page or tab is closed or reloaded. The SiftX desktop bridge does not create a database of search results, posts, replies, or media.

Sharing and sale

SiftX does not sell user data. It does not transfer user data to advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties. Data is shared only with X to perform requested X actions and with the local client selected by the user to provide the optional AI feature.

Permissions

• x.com access lets SiftX display its sidebar, read supported X responses, navigate to posts, and perform requested searches, posts, or replies.
• Storage saves the two on/off preferences described above.
• Alarms lets the background worker reconnect to the optional local bridge after Chrome suspends it.

All executable extension code is included in the installed package. SiftX does not download or execute remote code.

Your choices

You can turn off the sidebar or local AI connection in SiftX, clear the extension's local storage, or uninstall the extension. You can also stop or uninstall the separate desktop bridge. Removing SiftX deletes its locally stored preferences from Chrome.

Limited Use

SiftX's use and transfer of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

If SiftX's data practices change, this page will be updated before the changed extension is published. The effective date at the top will show when the policy was last revised.
